Question EVERYTHING????

Out of all the events that transpired in a home rife with discord, I did glean a few gems. One such jewel was my love for nature, hiking, and the outdoors, and another was a piece of advice from my father: “Don’t believe everything you read.” I expanded on this advice, learning to question everything I read, everything I am told, and the pronouncements of society and government. It might sound somewhat cynical, but in reality, it has prevented me from relinquishing my autonomy.

That’s the crux of this blog—and it addresses a response to one of my Facebook posts. Broadly speaking, I advocate for scrutiny of the intentions and motivations of those in positions of authority, be it clergy, educators, or politicians. Frequently, individuals seek influence before embarking on their own journey of healing. Consequently, their unresolved pain finds an outlet through their leadership, subtly influencing their intentions in ways that are self-serving, though not always evident, even to them.

Moreover, be vigilant regarding all marketing and advertising, especially messages suggesting that driving a Tesla, rather than a Prius, will enhance your sex appeal. When a corporation allocates substantial funds for advertising, their ultimate focus is on profit—and it is you and I who are expected to ensure their bottom line.

This is not an exhortation to become cynical; it’s about making empowered, conscious decisions. If we ingest without skepticism what is being served, we become no more than sheep. Occasionally, you may find that what you were told is accurate, that the advice given is sound, that the government is indeed acting in your interest. But to ascertain the truth, we must engage in questioning and introspection.

Here are some examples of why I suggest we question everything:

•  We were told asbestos was safe; it's not.

•  Mercury was used to fill our teeth. Consider the consequences.

•  Reflect on the foods banned in Europe that we continue to feed our children.

•  Contemplate how many more children must perish before we address the accessibility of guns—and no, I’m not advocating for removing all guns.

•  We are instructed to fear our African American neighbors.

•  We trusted that all priests and clergy were beyond reproach.

•  We were indoctrinated to believe God was an old white man in the sky.

To realize your ordained personal power, you and I are called to be on a consistent truth finding mission and trust our Spirit ordained intelligence and intuition. Question everything!
