Consciously Intolerant

There comes a time in our lives when it becomes completely appropriate to stop tolerating certain behaviors. For instance, putting an end to tolerating racism, misogyny, homophobia, and various forms of injustice.

To be consciously intolerant signifies that you will no longer stand idly by and permit these injustices to unfold before you. At this juncture, you might wonder, "What in the world can I do?" That's an excellent question! It may sound oversimplified, but the truth is, when we assume responsibility for our lives and our capacity to respond to adversity, and decide to make a change, the universe will guide us to our unique roles. Call forth the answers, and they shall arrive.

•              First, let's assert ourselves as potent, powerful manifest-ors of change, becoming what I refer to as Vocal Allies to those most harmed by our society's harshness.

•              Second, elevate your self-awareness regarding any unacknowledged privilege and bias you may harbor. Numerous books and programs are available to assist you in this journey.

•              Third, embark on a journey of personal healing to cleanse your inner realm. Why? Because if left unaddressed, while you strive to effect change, your own pain and issues will intermingle with the very issues you aim to resolve. It's imperative to purge the toxicity, so we may engage as our whole selves.

•              Fourth, be vigilant in monitoring your social media presence. While caring deeply, ensure you do not mistake your intolerance for prejudice with a self-righteous fury that could inflict additional harm. To embody the change, we must nurture qualities like love, forgiveness, and compassion.

Although this list may seem simplistic, it serves as a robust foundation. Your influence and effectiveness will grow as you enhance your self-awareness and begin to act. Engage in dialogue with those around you, inviting them into conversations to heighten awareness.

When you are ready, be bold, speak up, vote your values, and be the one who no longer tolerates the injustices of the world, instead be the place of love and compassion.
