Love is Fierce
The title of this blog is the same title of a talk that I just offered at our CSL Convention down in Charleston, South Carolina.
The idea of Love as a fierce force might turn some individuals away but for me it is a call for celebration. As we know, Love is a synonym for God. If this is true, then how could love not be a powerful and fierce element of change and transformation.
So many question the existence of God but I don’t know any who question the existence of Love. Love has saved my life. Love has helped to soften my jagged edges. Love has pulled me up out of the depths of doubt, fear, and self-loathing.
At conference, there were moments when I felt alive and others when I felt reprimanded. Why? How? And what do I do with these contrary emotions? Is it the responsibility of the one speaking or am I responsible for my receptivity. If another is responsible, does that not place me in the position of powerlessness? Can someone say things that are harmful, yes, they can, maybe, I guess so, but in the highest of truth, I have to look at where my power lies, I have to take ownership because if I do not take ownership, if I do not take responsibility, then I am saying that I am powerless and I am not.
What does fierce love look like in a situation where someone is feeling hurt? Focusing on the presence of love in my life as my source of healing reminds me that while my beautiful humanness might react to another, there is a deeper truth that says love, as fierce and in all its glory, is move powerful than fear, more powerful than doubt, and more powerful than my righteousness.
Love calls us to return to our source of beauty. When we bask in the love of our reality, we are healed, we are lifted, and we are free from our human condition.
Let love as a fierce source govern your life now and forever more.
