I wasn’t raised with faith in my family. We had no God, no church, no spiritual practices, and no meaningful conversations about anything beyond survival. In my family, it was all about duck and cover. Why? Because our world was filled with pain, mistakes, and a complete lack of life skills. The language we spoke was one of complaints and gossip.
