Here it is June 3, 2024, and we need a declared month to celebrate and accept a diversity of individuals as gay pride month.

I’m happy to celebrate. I’m happy to participate and I’m happy to raise and praise the individuality and the freedom of all individuals to be who they are, to do what they want to be, and to live life in their own unique bold and brilliant way. I am thrilled regarding the new level of acceptance that is very apparent and that schools and families are welcoming the individuality of so many students, sons, and daughters. But let’s face it, celebrations for Gay Pride Month, Black History Month, Women’s Month, are born out of society’s need to compensate for their limitations.

 Just for laughs, I researched how many monthly celebrations there are. To my surprise we have 55 dedicated monthly celebrations.

This country of ours, and the world at large, should not require a special celebration to accept individuals as they are and yet we do. (In my humble opinion) How long will it be before we can stop concerning ourselves about the color of our skin, about our sexual expression, or about honoring 50% of the population (WOMEN) that gave birth to the hundred percent of the planet. When can we finally live in a celebration of the pureness of life itself?

It is my opinion, which means nothing other than it is an opinion, that when individuals learn to love and accept themselves as they are, they can make room to love and accept all individuals as they are. That does not the change what is needed and required though. I admit that to you. The system of self-growth is a slow grow. Although it is a good grow. It’s a good, deep, and profound shift in who we are and how we show up.

The world cannot really wait for us to all love ourselves. And, for that reason, legislation and rules are required, along with good hiring practices, but let’s not make it an either/or choice. While guidelines and legislation are in place along with human resource departments to protect individuals in the workplace and at the corporate level, behind the scenes let’s be an army of spiritually minded individuals.

Those who know something else is possible, let us join hands and focus on transforming society from the inside out. Together, let’s go from a world of pain, suffering, judgments, and blame to a world of integrity, love, compassion and kindness. This is why I do what I do. I teach because I want to support the underbelly of this country while we figure out the rest amongst the masses.
